Personal trainer for women in Orange County, CA
Amy is a certified personal trainer based in Irvine, CA, offering one-on-one personal training for women in Orange County, including in-home personal training in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. She came to the gym about four years ago not as a fitness enthusiast, but as someone who had always felt physically incapable. I grew up feeling like I couldn't keep up, particularly in environments where physical strength was on display, and I carried that belief about myself for a long time.
The gym changed that. Getting stronger didn't just change my body: it changed how I understood myself. It gave me a sense of capability and confidence that extended well beyond fitness. I stopped feeling like strength was something other people had and I didn't.
That experience is the foundation of everything I do as a coach. I know exactly what it feels like to walk into a gym and feel like you don't belong there. I know what it feels like to assume you're just not built for this. And I know what it feels like when that story starts to break down: when you hit a lift you didn't think you could, when your posture changes, when you catch yourself in the mirror and think that's different.
I became a trainer to give other people that experience.
How I coach
My coaching is warm, affirming, and relentlessly encouraging, but it's not soft. I keep programming simple and progressive, focus on fundamental movement patterns done well, and create an environment where clients feel safe enough to push past what they thought they were capable of.
You'll learn what you're doing and why. I'm not interested in clients who just follow instructions blindly: I want you to understand your own body and training well enough to advocate for yourself. That's the kind of trainer I wish I'd had when I was starting out.
I remember everything. I notice when something is off. And I will always be more invested in your progress than you expect.
Who Amy trains · women's personal training in Orange County
I work best with women in their late 20s to mid-40s who are new to the gym, coming back after a gap, or who've had inconsistent gym experiences and never quite found their footing. My clients' biggest barrier is almost never physical: it's the belief that they're not someone who can do this.
If you've ever said "I just have weak arms," that's exactly who I work with.
- Women new to strength training or returning after a long break
- Clients with body recomposition goals who want to feel as good as they look
- People who want an encouraging, structured dynamic with clear communication
- Clients who are relatively healthy at baseline; for complex injury histories, I'll refer you to Nick

- 3 years coaching experience
- Background in wedding photography, which brings an observational attentiveness to movement and client experience
